Dormitory Students' Rooms Access Emergency Access

How Sequence Lock Devices Work in Dormitories

The key retaining device is being used as an effective tool for key control for access to individual Dorm Rooms when emergency/authorized access is required.

Benefits for Safety and Student Security

This application for the key retaining device, the Floor Manager/Administrator of Dormitory Floor has an identified/tagged release key to be inserted into the retaining device and rotated. The rotation will allow removal of retained key (master key for floor dorm rooms) and in turn traps the release key. The Floor Manager/Administrator release key remains trapped until the retained key is returned and rotated. After this action, the release key can be removed, with the retained key being trapped.

Ensuring Accountability for Dorm Administrators

These key retaining devices establish accountability for important keys (ex: master keys, emergency bypass keys, access control, safety lockout, etc.) and dramatically reduce both human mistakes and risk exposure for hierarchy level keys. This key control of put and take system acts as a mechanical usage identifier and sign-out identification when active.
